Critical Power
Important
NEW in 2.0
NEW in 2.4 Find Empty Tank Efforts (and calculate session specific critical power) during data import and updates
NEW in 2.6 Added Running Critical Power Calculator
The default calculation of term:Critical Power which occurs post data loading is based on the OMNI model over a time span of three months and uses a large number of data samples from your power history.
The Critical Power Calculator also uses the OMNI model but allows you to choose your own time span, power type, and/or manually enter power values for a selected number of intervals. Access the calculator for cycling or running from the Settings –> Critical Power menu item.

Clicking save on the calculator will store calculation results into your Athlete Journal.
Note
Critical Power parameters (term:critical power<Critical Power>, Anaerobic Work Capacity, and max power) are calculated during data import
If a session has its power data excluded or session is deleted then the term:critical power<Critical Power> for affected sessions will be updated
Empty Tank Efforts (efforts for which W’ Balance would be negative) are found during data import and on updates
A session specific term:critical power<Critical Power> is calculated (if possible) for Empty Tank Efforts and is then displayed on Session Summary, Session Chart, Best Power Chart, and FTP Estimates Chart
